We hold NOV Grant Prideco certification for XT, HT, and GPDS connections and cut TenarisIPSCO DQX casing. Every threaded joint is gauged to the licensor's spec before it leaves the building.

Any shop can quote you a part. What costs you money is the two weeks it spends on a truck. We built this shop to close that gap.
In the basin, not across the country
Our floor is fifteen minutes from most of the Uinta Basin. Drop a part off in the morning instead of crating it and waiting a week on freight both ways.

One shop turns, welds, and cuts the connection. Nothing gets handed to a second vendor, so nothing sits in someone else's queue.

How a job runs

Bring us the part
A print, a photo, or the broken piece itself. Drop it at the shop on 800 East or send it with the hot shot.
02
We scope and quote it
We measure what you brought in, tell you honestly whether to repair or replace it, and price the work before we start.
03
Machined, welded, gauged
Cut on our lathes and mills, welded by our hands, and — on threaded work — gauged against the licensor's spec.
04
Back in the string
Picked up or delivered to location, with the certification paperwork the job requires.
About us
A basin shop, run by people who worked the rigs
Zimmerman Engineering is the machining and fabrication arm of a family business Bill Zimmerman started in 1991. He engineered the company's first centrifuges himself — that habit of building it right rather than buying it cheap is still how the shop runs.
